  •  10Congratulations on completing the module on the Challenges To The CAP Process! You now understand the various challenging situations that can occur during counselling and how to deal with them.

    Some patients might suffer from drinking problems as well as depression. In such patients:

    • The two disorders could be unrelated
    • Or there could be a relationship
    (a) The patient might drink because of his/her depression (to reduce or forget the symptoms of depression); or
    (b)The depression might be a result of his/heavy drinking (which can cause depression in some people)
