In this activity, you will record an audio recording that discusses the evaluation of cognitive function and medical treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders associated with HIV.
Step. 1 Analyze (30 minutes)
Study and analyze this fictional case:
You are the resident neuropsychologist of a medical-oriented radio show. The format of the radio show allows its audience to share their concerns, inquiries, and questions that are related to health and medicine. One of your avid listeners expresses concern over changes in her sister's memory and thinking which includes trouble managing her money, remembering to take medications for her HIV, forgetting important events, and losing her sense of direction around familiar environments.
As the resident neuropsychiatrist, you are expected to give advice to the listener using your knowledge of neuropsychiatric and neurocognitive disorders.
Step 2. Respond (180 minutes)
As the resident neuropsychiatrist, respond by recording 3-5-minute audio with the following inclusions:
- A simple explanation of how the cognitive function of a patient is determined and evaluated.

- Recommendations on appropriate medical treatment for patients potentially diagnosed with a neuropsychiatric disorder and with pre-existing conditions such as HIV.
