The Thompson family includes James, Karen, and their two children. After ten years of marriage, they decide to get a divorce. The children are confused and upset, and Karen struggles with the end of her marriage. James moves out, and this causes some difficulties for Karen.

Review the case scenario above and read the required learning materials for this lesson.
Step 2: Respond
Based on the case scenario above, prepare a 250-300 word piece discussing the changing dynamics of the Thompson family. Your response should address the following points:
- Explain the ways in which divorce may affect the roles of the parents.
- Explain how the children’s experience of the divorce may differ from those of the parents.
- Describe how gender and societal norms and expectations around marriage and divorce contribute to the challenges faced by families experiencing divorce.
