Through structured lessons, participants will deepen their understanding of the difference between equity and equality, the importance of gender-responsive humanitarian action and disability inclusion, and how global frameworks such as the Core Commitments to Children (CCC), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) guide inclusive and principled responses.

This course uses microlearning strategies, breaking complex concepts into manageable, focused segments that allow learners to effectively address key topics. Through interactive activities and scenario-based exercises, participants will discover how to apply equity-based approaches in real-world humanitarian settings. This hands-on approach allows learners not only to understand theoretical frameworks but also to translate them into concrete, field-specific strategies that promote inclusion and accessibility.

Whether you are new to the humanitarian sector or looking to deepen your knowledge of equity, gender equality, and disability inclusion, this course will provide you with the knowledge and tools needed to integrate these principles into humanitarian planning and response, ensuring that no one is left behind.

The course adopts a microlearning approach, offering short lessons (15 to 20 minutes each) that facilitate the understanding of complex human rights concepts. Interactive activities, case studies, and scenario-based exercises provide opportunities for active learning. There is no graded assessment: participants can engage, explore, and retry activities as often as needed to deepen their understanding.

There are three lessons to complete, which include:

• Lesson 1: Understanding Equality and Equity
• Lesson 2: UNICEF's Core Commitments to Children (CCCs) and Inclusion
• Lesson 3: Gender Equality in Humanitarian Action
• Lesson 4: Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action

The completion time for this course is estimated at 2 hours, comprising 1 hour of learning resources and 1 hour of microlearning content. The course requires the completion of three microlessons.

After completing the microlessons, you'll gain access to a final exam at the end of the course. This exam features a detailed scenario that integrates all the concepts learned.
