Activity 5: Ethical Implications of Substance Use Disorder Legislation (240 minutes) Forum
You will research substance use disorder legislation in your region and reflect on ethical implications for individuals, organizations, and communities.
Instructions:
Step 1: Review and Research
Review the learning resources on the steps of policy-making and on ethical implications at the individual, organizational, and community levels of substance use disorder legislation. Then, research legislation in your region pertaining to substance use disorders.
Step 2: Reflect
In 400-500 words, write a reflection on the implications of the regional legislation you chose. It should include:
A brief introduction to your chosen legislation (quoted and cited)
State why you chose to reflect on the particular choice
Briefly clarify what is meant by individual, organizational, and community levels
State what you understand by the term “ethical implications” as it applies to legislation
Reflect on the ethical implications of your chosen legislation at each level
