      You will discuss how legislation ensures the quality of public health and how it shapes the progression of public health.

      Instructions:

      Step 1: Review and Identify

      Review the learning resources on how legislation ensures the quality of public health, and look at the role of the IHR (2005).

      Step 2: Discuss

      In 300-400 words, write a discussion on the role of legislation in ensuring quality public health and for progression in the field.
      Your discussion should include: 

      • What you think is the importance of having legislation in public health and how it encourages countries to strive for a level of quality in public health. 

      • Your views on how legislation has shaped and facilitated public health progression and how you think it will continue to do this in the future.

      • Make sure to use at least one example to support your arguments for each of the points above.

      • Compare and discuss how well each legislation achieves health protection, promotion, and well-being. 

      • State which of the three you think will hold a country’s government most accountable if public health standards and duties are not held, and why. 

      • State if you think any legislation seems more powerful or effective than the others, and why?
